Joining Our Club
As an AMA-charted club, we adhere to and comply with the safety code and governing regulations of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). All prospective members who seek membership with the Bend Aero Modelers (BAM) must be current AMA members in good standing. In addition, prospective members must gree to and accept AMA's safety code and BAM's by-laws as well as Field Safety Guidelines as part of the application process.
NOTE: Per our by-laws, all new memberships are probationary for a period of 6 months.
Membership Options
When joining our club, you can choose from the following membership options (as appropriate):
Adult Membership
Individual who is 19-74 years old at the time of application (19-74 years old as of January 1st for renewals).
Super Senior Membership
Individual who is 75 years and older at the time of application (75 years and older as of January 1st for renewals).
Youth Membership
Individual who is not yet 19 years old at the time of application (not yet 19 years old as of January 1st for renewals).
Family Membership
Individuals who are immediate family members and part of the same household. A family membership typically includes two or more family members of the same household. Please note that children must be 25 years or younger and live with a parent at the time of application (live with parent as of January 1st for renewals). A family membership also applies in cases where an adult child (older than 25 years) is the caretaker and lives with the parent/parents.
Application Process
Please follow the below steps to start the application process.
Step 1: Confirm the following requirements BEFORE applying (if applicable).
- You are in good standing with the AMA.
NOTE: Does not apply if you have never been an AMA member.
- You are in good standing with the Bend Aero Modelers.
NOTE: Does not apply if you have never been a member of our club.
- You have not been expelled by another club or organization.
NOTE: If yes, please provide a brief summary for the reason of your expulsion with your application (fill in the corresponding comments field in the application form).
Step 2: Confirm your AMA status.
- Are you a current member of the AMA?
If not, stop here and obtain your AMA membership first before submitting your application with BAM.NOTE: If you are not a current member of the AMA or have never been a member of the AMA, please renew or obtain your AMA membership BEFORE you complete BAM's application. We will not be be able to process your membership until you can provide proof of a current AMA membership (you must fill in the field for your AMA number on BAM's application form). If you are applying for a family membership, every person listed on your family membership application must obtain/have a current AMA membership and provide her/his AMA number on the BAM application form.

For example, if you apply between January through March, the full membership fee. If you apply between April through June, you only pay 75% of the full membership fee, and so on.
